Now Playing: Songs You Need to Add to Your Freelancer Playlist

Postado em - Última vez Modificado em

Call freelancers and entrepreneurs lucky because they can listen to all the music they want while they get work done. That’s one of the perks of being your own boss.

The freelancing lifestyle has made the corporate 9-5 a thing of the past, but to this day, freelancers find the need to constantly listen to awesome new tracks to boost their mood.

Yes, studies confirm that music can help you work faster and brainstorm better. On the other hand, naysayers claim music is a distraction, but freelancers beg to differ.

Bring out your headphones and get ready for the top 10 hits to help you get work done. Kick in the good vibes, and turn an ordinary work day into extraordinary.

Everything - Kaptan

Everything by Kaptan is the third track off the album, Sprinter. If you’re looking for a song to convince you that everything’s going to be alright, this is it.  Don’t worry, it’s not cheesy at all. It’s more of a feel-good song. Listen to Everything here.

Can’t Stop the Feeling - Justin Timberlake

Trolls isn’t coming out ‘til November but the biggest track from the movie was already released last month. Watch the official music video -- it’s got beats that will get you dancing as you work. Also, it’s added pleasure hearing JT’s trademark falsetto ripping through the post-chorus.

Where the Sky Hangs - Passion Pit

Where the Sky Hangs is one of the first releases from the album Kindred by Indietronica band Passion Pit. Get your heartstrings caught up with this track. Listen to it here.

Anna Sun - Walk the Moon

“We got no money but we got heart” Sound familiar? If you’re the passionate freelancer hustling for the extra cash, listen to this track and relate to how life is one big party with minor mishaps, but at the end of the day, it’s all good.

Best Day of My Life - American Authors

All about the lyrics? American Authors isn’t bound to disappoint. For the dreamers and achievers, the band opens with, “I had a dream so big and loud / I jumped so high I touched the clouds”, then revs up pre-chorus, “I'm never gonna look back / Whoa, I'm never gonna give it up“. Enough explaining, watch the video here.

Alive - Empire of the Sun

Listen to the chorus as the clock’s ticking to the minute. What makes you feel alive? The same track by Empire of the Sun was remixed by Zedd, for those who prefer EDM.

We Come Running - Youngblood Hawke

Work day feeling a little bland? Life’s a fun and amazing adventure (in case you forgot, also, watch the video here). We Come Running will want you to book a ticket to your next getaway.  While you might not be able to get away at this moment, this song will get you inspired to do so.

Girlfriend - Phoenix

The song is poetic and open to interpretation with its lyrics. Girlfriend opens with, “Tired out, not a miracle in days”, and the chorus, “Die and succeed / I say it out loud but you just don’t care”. The melody isn’t as upbeat as you’d expect for happy songs to be, but it’s got an indie vibe that’s sure to get your foot thumping. Listen to French rock band Phoenix’s track here.

Something Good Can Work - Two Door Cinema Club

We’ll leave you to the lyrics for interpretation: “Let's make this happen, girl / You gotta show the world that something good can work / And it can work for you / And you know that it will “

Indeed it can! Positivity! Watch the official video here.

Pumpin Blood - NONONO

If you’re cruising through life and feeling a little lost, listen to Pumpin Blood. The chorus goes,“It’s your heart, it’s alive / It’s pumpin’ blood”. That might be stating the obvious but in hindsight, the song is about your deeper sense of purpose. Watch the video here.
