I have code that uses a grid image (see PSD) to build a thumbnail image for a date (see PNG)

What I need is a creative version of the PSD file that will look good on a white to off-white background.
You are free to change the fonts, colors and sizes while keeping the elements withing the grid in the photoshop file.

I prefer that the three different types of text -day, month and year- to different fonts.

This is a very quick task and I have created many versions, just want to get a fresh idea.

[UPDATE] Stay within the blocks and crop text to fill the blocks
