Attached is a design for a new type of painting easel.

The attached design has a few flaws that need to be corrected:

1) This particular easel uses a mirror as well as a painting canvas, which creates a lot of weight in the front of the easel. The weight of a mirror and a canvas on the existing design will fall forward.

2) The sections of wood that attach to the parts that extend out cannot handle any reasonable load and will break.

3) The legs need a better/easier to construct system for fastening the legs to the feet.

As you can see, this needs major changes if not a complete redesign, which I am open to.

Lastly, I need detailed/itemized plans so any experienced wood worker can build this.

Hello: To achieve a good design I need you to clarify these points: 1- The 3 racks are removable from the studs ?. 2- The frame closest to the ground supports the canvas frame. 3- The canvas holder frame must be able to move ?. 4- The mirror holder frame must be able to move and hold mirrors of different sizes? 5- The angles of inclination of the frames will be as in the sample ?. 6- From which place does the artist have to work? 7- Brief description of the use of the easel; spaces that must be free for the artist's use; from which side does the artist work?

And the easel needs to be easily broken down for transportation. 2- Yes. 3- Yes to adjust to holding different size canvases. 4 - Yes, and the mirroirs angle of approach should be adjustable. 5- Yes. But they will need to b adjustable in your final design. 6- facing the mirror. 7- The artist approaches the easel from the front as a standard easel, only painting downward while facing the mirror.

Whats the mirror used for? Also do the mirror and canvas rotate about some axis or only the X-Y positions can be changed. A video showing the easel in use would be appreciated.

  The mirror is used for viewing the canvas below. They do not currently but they both need to be flexible on both axis. There is not video of the easel in use at this time.

I consider the problem to be very simple, according to your aesthetic interests, easy manufacturing and installation, I will present 3 designs;

1. Respecting as much as possible the original design but solving your problems.

2. A design with more degrees of freedom and 100% efficiency.

3. A much more aesthetic and simple design, but very effective.

Each design will have its plans per piece and assembly, for proper manufacturing and installation.

Hola: Para lograr un buen diseño necesito que me aclares estos puntos: 1- Los 3 bastidores son extraíbles de los parantes?. 2- El bastidor mas cercano al suelo sirve de sostén al bastidor porta lienzo?. 3- El bastidor porta lienzo tiene que poder desplazarse?. 4- El bastidor porta espejo tiene que poder desplazarse y sostener espejos de diferentes tamaños?. 5- Los ángulos de inclinación de los bastidores serán como en la muestra?. 6- Desde qué lugar tiene que trabajar el artista?. 7- Breve descripción del uso del caballete; espacios que deben quedar libres para uso del artista; desde qué lado trabaja el artista?.
