Front Cover Design Direction

I would like to start with a design very similar to the attached reference (soft teal gradient, calm and minimal), but with the following refinements:

Overall Feel
• Calm, reassuring, and professional (not clinical or busy)
• Soft, matte look
• Clean and readable at thumbnail size (Amazon)

Background
• Keep the soft teal/blue-green gradient
• Instead of visible leaf illustrations, I would like the foliage to be integrated into the
background as a subtle texture
• Think:
• Pressed botanical paper
• Watermark-style leaves
• Very low-contrast, layered texture
• The foliage should not stand out as individual elements—it should feel like part of the
paper or surface

Texture Direction
• Slightly organic, natural texture (not flat digital gradient)
• Soft depth—almost like handmade paper or watercolor wash
• No sharp lines or high contrast

Typography
• Serif font similar to current (elegant, readable, not modern/sans-serif)
• Title large and centered:
• Alpha-Gal Syndrome
• Subtitle smaller, refined:
• Understanding and Living Well
• Author name clean and simple at bottom

Color Palette
• Teal / soft blue-green base
• Slight variation in tones for depth
• Text in soft white or very light cream (not stark bright white)

What to Avoid
• No bold or high-contrast botanical illustrations
• No busy or decorative elements
• No overly “medical” imagery
• No glossy or overly saturated look
This is for a full print book cover (Amazon KDP), including:
• Front cover
• Spine
• Back cover

Final files should be sized to KDP specifications (6x9 trim size + bleed).

Initial entries can be front cover concepts, but the final selected design must include full wrap (front, spine, back).

Designer should be able to place final back cover text (to be provided) and adjust spine width based on final page count.

    CH, you need to watch out, most entries are going to be AI generated, 99% AI, these scammers will post HUNDREDS of AI images each but you can spot them, watch out for them dropping all entries super fast. Keep in mind a hand crafted design takes time to create, so multiple different entries in a row is impossible. The easiest way to spot them is typing their name into 'Search Entries' so you can see their pattern of spamming and how fast they are posting entries. ALWAYS SEARCH NAMES. I can not stress this enough, every single entry you like the look of, SEARCH NAME.

    ALSO PLEASE NOTE!!!

    AI-generated images lack copyright protection, permitting any third party to copy the design and could lead to future legal disputes over ownership or usage rights.
