Need a high quality cover for my new novel (+ film script) which will be selling initially via Amazon Kindle.
Title is "The Dragon Race" by James Richardson
Story is about Josh, a 15yo lonely misfit, who stumbles upon a portal in the school bathroom. He enters the parallel world of Nu, where nature is out of control, people modify their DNA to stay aligned with nature, and dragon races are used as a substitute for warfare and political negotiation. Josh's love of animals and psychic abilities make him a perfect fit for dragon racing and he goes from zero to instant hero. But there's this girl (right?) and some ego and some mind control and, and, and. In short, he screws the pooch, in so many ways.
Will upload a few pages of the book to give you a better feel shortly. And some imagery.

I would just like to say this has been such an awesome contest. This is my first attempt at a Fantasy book cover (and at drawing a dragon, for that matter) so thanks for the opportunity, jamesgameon! And to all the wonderful, talented fellow illustrators, thank you! I spent quite some time admiring your work, especially watching the progression of brush strokes from Comics583 (their movement captures the rush of a race so well! Your fonts are a bit small, but I love your expressive painting!!) I liked the detailed, surreal landscapes in MRart\'s and artinearth\'s work and the quiet underwater ambience in ramyoo12. Borika\'s dragon in #78 is v beautiful and intricate. I thought magnumstep\'s fonts and dragon worked really well together for a striking cover. I also admired troubadourBo, roballen23\'s and chrissowels27 artwork and iochimura\'s unique perspective. Thanks Dayna2 for being unafraid to be our big, bad policeman. Thanks everyone! This was a satisfying learning experience!

Dear All,
I\'ve decided to award the prize to Ewehouse.
THANK YOU ALL for your awesome effort and talent. The decision was extremely difficult. If I wasn\'t a struggling writer, I\'d award at least 10 prizes.
I feel particularly indebted to ramyoo12 and artinearth who have gone back and forth with me on several versions. Nearly to the end, I was certain the winner would be ramyoo12\'s swirly undersea art or artinearth\'s wild manta ray.
Then MRArt and comic583 came along and things got messy. I felt like a cheating husband. Other standout pieces with totally unique styles were iochimura, roballen23 and magnumstep. Admiration for Opacity\'s beautiful style and use of color. And praise to so many other unique and talented artists including Borika and chrissowels27.
As a small token, I\'d like to offer all of you a free copy of the ebook once it\'s up on Amazon. Just send me your details.

I really respect your decision. But It would have been better if you could select a winner first -although it\'s a draft- then ask them to revise it over and over again. I devoted my time to make 4 different changes and I feel really empty about the result.

ramyoo12, I totally understand the way you feel. This was my first contest and I didn\'t expect the large number of entrants at the end. For most of the contest, I was deciding between you and artinearth. There were many other excellent designs but both of you best captured the feel of Nu and the dragons. When Ewehouse\'s cover showed up, I thought it was great but too young. When MRArt submitted his artwork on the last day, I felt guilty to be even considering another design. Then I realised Ewehouse\'s design best captured the struggle of the main character - just as important as capturing Nu and the dragons. Overall, when artists asked for feedback, I avoided giving detailed directions. Next time, I\'ll hold back on all feedback then choose a winner at the end and ask them to make any changes. I\'ve tried to submit my concept three times #94 and for some reason it keeps showing as negative or inverted image. So if you look at it just know that the blue colours should orange and dark colours should light and vice versa. Maybe there\'s another way I can send it to you.
