I have a design for a character in a novel I wrote and am getting ready to publish. This will be used to create a vinyl or cast figure/statue as one of the rewards for my kickstarter backers. I've messed around in Sculptris(I have no skill with 3D modeling) and am not getting results I like or can use for that matter.
1. Pictures will be attached. The creature has the top half of a tree frog, the bottom half of a rat, and bat-like wings. In one of the pictures he has a small beard. I would prefer to keep that on the model if the process isn't too complicated, but it can go if it streamlines the process. And with the "rat" lower half maybe a little minor texture for the "appearance" of being fuzzy/hairy. This doesn't have to be fully painted, but if you go that far, the skin should be blueish/purple in hue, and the eyes red.
2. The wings can be folded, that I don't mind if the pose suggests it. If the model has unfolded wings I would like them to be detachable for shipping purposes; i.e. small pegs that fit into holes in the back. If you've ever opened a toy the ends up bigger than the box, you know what I mean.
The hand drawing is my first iteration of this thing, and the others are somewhat crappy photoshop garbled images I tossed together to get a feel for this guy while I was writing. Thank you for your time and interest.
Full credit will be given for the 3D modeling of my creation in my kickstarter campaign. As the creature is part of a copyrighted work, the design, rights to use of the 3d model and items produced from will be mine. In any packaging used to promote or send out the rewards, you will also get full credit for the work you have done. You can also use your work in your portfolio. Just not for profit. :)
