You will illustrate a BOOK COVER.

I am thinking a two or three color tone pattern to use for ALL my books in the future. So "Lockdown: abc" "Lockdown: xyz" .

The goal of your artwork: Imagine yourself at the bookstore. You see this book.
--Does the FRONT cover intrigue you to pick it up?
--When you pick it up (without reading!!) do you INSTANTLY know the theme of this book? (protect against online criminals/Internet security).
If your answer is "YES", then your book cover design has a good chance of winning the contest.

The word "Lockdown:" in the title needs to give a strong, secure, safe feeling. If you read this book you will learn how to protect yourself.

I prefer Lockdown: to be a real logo that I can use for future books, e.g. "Lockdown: Your XYZ"
"Your Life"in the title, therefore should be separate font/design from the logo "Lockdown:". For example, perhaps the "O" in "YOUR" could have a small computer icon inside with a padlock on the screen (just one idea). Think of something that is original that goes with the theme of protecting yourself from online crime.

SPINE PUBLISHER LOGO: On the spine of the book, could you make a very simple logo for the publishing company "LockdownBooks" Idea: a padlock with the words "LockdownBooks" (one word) written on the lock. Obviously this will be a very small image since it will fit on the spine. Easy. Simple. Don't spend too much time on this small "publisher logo" for spine.

Export final design as PDF

I will print this book via CreateSpace.com.
This is NOT a digital book so DPI must be at least 300.

at at LEAST 300 DPI. More DPI is better.

I prefer original icons/graphics that you create for this book. I don't like photos or stock images (but might consider if used sparingly).

NO COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL ALLOWED

Stop work. Contest is over. Thank yo so much for your entries. Generally speaking I will only have one entry per person and I will probably only consider 10 max in the shortlist.   I like your graphics. Cool. I left you some comments on #11. Please read. Also please read my comments on Public Clarification Board. I want a person who sees this book in the bookstore to instantly understand the theme of the book (without reading the title). I.e. A book on pets would have animals. A book on hiking would have an image of a mountain. What is my book's theme? How can you communicate that theme instantly?
