I need a logo for my new company. The name of the company is "ShOtY Software". The name ShOtY is the nickname I've been using in the last 10 years or so, it has no particular meaning and the provenience doesn't matter. The company will produce software. I don't have any ideas regarding the logo, but the word "Software" it's not required in the logo, it's optional. I have no idea what logo type should I choose, I'm open for proposals. Please feel free to ask me any questions.
Later Edit: We should give up on having the word "ShOtY" written with upper-case characters as it creates me a feeling of anti-professional. The logo must inspire confidence.

i would like to see a big bold uppercase text (SHOTY) in a logo maybe with some white lines through it (not like IBM, just a part of the text). If you can make the actual text to look great then we can have no icon. And on the next job (website design) we can buy an icon from some 3rd party website to use it as a favicon. The printed materials, business cards etc can be great without an icon if the text looks nice. (And no fancy fonts).

I want an original design. All submissions with copied graphics will be rejected. Also the logo should inspire confidence. I'm kind of disappointed with the submissions. I like the idea of having an icon but it should be simple to be easy to remember the logo. Also I don't want any fancy text. I will have some more work after logo and I will consider working with the designer of the logo but I should be satisfied about the logo first.

  Pourtrait is right. If you want to inspire confidence you need a business name that inspires confidence. Besides the link that Pourtrait posted, the name shoty sounds like someone who likes to drink shots of liquor. It also sounds similar to shoddy.
