Hello - We need a logo developed for a resort in Minnesota USA that offers family vacations and fantastic freshwater fishing. The resort name is: Anchor Inn Resort.
This resort is in the heart of northern Minnesota’s Chippewa National Forest and there are hundreds of lakes in the area. Families and sportsmen come here to vacation and relax. There is a lot of freshwater fishing and small game hunting done here.
There is a 1.5 meter-long boat anchor on the resort property from an old steamboat that was used in the early 1900s to push timber logs down the river to the sawmills in the bigger cities.
PLEASE NOTE: This resort is located on a freshwater lake and river, NOT on saltwater. There are no huge ships!!! Please do not include giant boat anchors with an octopus or other traditional saltwater type motifs in your design as I will disqualify it immediately. Also, there is no trout fishing here, so please do not include someone fly fishing in the design.

1.) The new logo will be used in a new design currently under development for this resort. The existing site can be viewed at http://www.anchorinnresort.com
2.) The logo design needs to be functional in both color and in black and white.
3.) The logo design needs to be able to be embroidered on clothing. See http://www.embroideryauthority.com/logo-tips/ for tips on what works and what doesn’t for embroidered designs.
4.) The new logo is preferred to be more strongly horizontal than vertical in design.
5.) We are open to any colors that are complimentary and professional looking - perhaps Blues, Gold, Dark Greens, Brown, Maroon, Dark Red or Gray/Charcoal.

This logo is for one of our clients. We are an ad agency/digital marketing firm in business since 1999. We are hoping to develop long-term relationships with freelance designers for future projects. Please see our Freelancer project feedback – we are very picky, but very good to work with.

  Hello - with Freelancer.com's Contests, there is no bidding process. The contest winner receives the full amount as promised in the contest. There are no second or third place awards either. I have received several designs that include palm trees and a very tropical feel. Please note that this resort is in the north central part of North America - there isn't a palm tree within 2400 km of here! This is a northwoods area with pine trees, spruce trees and lots of lakes and rivers. There are no mountains here either, only hills. Hope this helps!

@macarook - although the resort name "Anchor Inn Resort" is not required to be in the logo, I believe it makes good sense to be part of it. I leave it to the designers choice as I do not want to limit your creativity.
