Contest Brief

I need a logo designing for my website "banterbury.com". This is a play on words with the archbishop of Canterbury.
The website will be selling novelty / comedy t-shirts (and hoodies, polo shirts etc).
The logo needs to reflect the "light-hearted" nature of the website and content.
I had a few ideas of what could be included in the logo, but am open to suggestions and feedback.
Essential - a mini-archbishop for mascot purposes, perhaps a grey bearded goofy looking priest / bishop with the obvious bishop collar, maybe the bishop robes and / or hat. I would need the bishop to be in a number of positions or outfits to place in different places on the website, for example - leaning on a "special offer" button or pointing his magical bishop stick at a promotional item.
My thoughts with regards to font was first to conform to a formal serif style to keep a "churchy" feel, but on second thoughts I've also considered going for a big, shiny balloony cartoon font.
It might look nice to have the bearded bishop leaning on the bonkers font for the main logo.
Designer will have the opportunity to design some groovy bishop tees too, so this advert could be the start of a line of work.
