Contest Brief

We are start-up, name VeloxCore. We need a logo with brand-ability. It will be used on Company banner, visiting/business cards, letter head, advertisements (online and offline both), t-shirts, notepads and what not. It will be used on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and most other social media websites so keep that also in mind while designing.

Guidelines to be followed:
- It Should be clean.
- Flat style is in trend but we are looking for timeless design rather than trends.
- We are specifically not disclosing industry as we want a logo for the name of the company and not for the industry.
- You should design black and white logo first and later on add color to it. And we need to have both variation.
- Design should work at a minimum of around one inch without loss of detail, also specify minimum size that can be used with logo.
- No need to say have to be original, we will consider only original artwork for finalist.
- Also provide your thought behind the art work.

Deliverable:
- Vector file.
- Should submit both Black & white and Colored one.
- All source file will be ours and cannot be sold to anyone else.
- Clearly mention font details, size, type, line height, spacing before and after, colors, headline versus body font.
- Specify each color you used in CMYK, RGB and HEX.

On a side note, we like Skype branding a lot but take how they did not what they did.

  If I don't find anything good out of this contest then I'll post more broader contest probably with higher price and more time. And you were right about the Starbucks, what I mean by coffee is coffee beans or direct reference. I'm also trying to find something indirectly referencing to the name itself and not to industry I'm pitching in.

  That will defy the purpose here. See Starbucks logo, it doesn't has coffee or anything related to it, still it stand out clear in crowd.

  The Sirene in the Starbucks logo evokes the sea and the history of coffe transportation, wich was initially by the sea. So it is incorrect to assume that the Sirene in the logo has nothing to do with the coffee.

  I liked your logo but it doesn't have identity of its own. See Skype, Starbucks, Pepsi or any brand, you can identify them in different color or style too. I'm looking for something very striking. And I'd probably give website design to the same guy, so looking for some creativity.

Just to give more detail, VeloxCore can be treated as two words or single, doesn't matter from brandability perspective. Also Velox is Latin word which means Swift, fast, rapid... And core signifies quality at heart of this startup.
