Dear Applicants,
For the newly founded science network "Ocean Governance for Sustainability - challenges, options and the role of science" (short: OceanGov), funded by European Cooperation in Science and Technology (EU COST), we announce a competition for the design of a network-logo.
The Cost Action comprises a unique, transdisciplinary network of 58 proposers with regional and international outreach. The network aims to establish an integrative vision, and a series of approaches that informs research and future policy directions on crosscutting sustainability-driven issues related to the fragmented governance framework of oceans, seas and coastlines within regional waters, and the open ocean in areas beyond national jurisdiction.
The network is organized in six workgroups: Land-Sea Interactions, Area-based Management, Seabed Resource Management, Nutrition Security and Food Systems, Ocean Climate and Acidification, and Fisheries Governance, with a proposed duration of four years (2016-2020).
For the logo we would like a combination of image and abbreviated network name "OceanGov" with the title of the funding line "EU COST Action" as a possible addition. The thematic focus on marine areas, as well as the research region Europe, should be communicated clearly, while claiming the scientific context in a flat and clean appearance.
Finally the logo will be placed on a website, letterheads and other printed publication material. The required formats are EPS, SVG and PNG.
