In a sports management website, there is a create page, where a user can create different items. The attached image createPretty is the current create page. It's not intuitive, does not engage the user, and not that user friendly. This design contest is to improve the create buttons only. The top navigation menus will stay unchanged.

I'm looking for a better layout and icons for create buttons. I'm open to new ideas.

One possible idea I thought would greatly improve user experience is to use boxes instead of buttons. Inside each box; icon, header (league, team, organization, event, group of interest), a short description, and a create link. See attached createMockup for my possible idea. Please ignore the colors as this is just used to get my idea cross. I only illustrated this for the league button.

The designer will come up with the following:
1- the create page composition with coloring, layout, etc... (PSD or PNG file)
2- Five icons used within each box (five PNGs, 120 x 120 px). Can reuse existing ones inside buttons for ideas.

Description of each button:

Event: a sports events like a pickup game or team practice.
League: a sports league, like a basketball league.
Team: a sports team.
Group of interest: a group of people that has a common sport in common. Like a soccer group
Organization: a sports organization that has teams or leagues like schools, clubs, gyms, etc....
