Contest Brief

I am working on a website and I need a good homepage. The designer that I have currently is not doing what I want. I would like a homepage design to be made surrounding the following website description:

Very simply, the site connects people from the same city and allows people to look at each other's profiles, chat with each other, etc. I would like the homepage to reflect the connection of many people within the same city. If pictures of people are used, I would like to clarify that I DO NOT want this to look like a homepage for a dating site. Even though a large amount of users will probably use the site for this purpose, I don't want dating to be the focus of the homepage, rather simply the connection between people within the same city.

Please feel free to be as creative as you wish. You can change the sign up box, play around with different colors, essentially do anything you would like that coincides with my instructions. Please keep in mind that the sign up button and sign up box should be the focus of the homepage. I do not want users to get distracted by crazy things in the background. The main objective is for the background to tell users what the site is all about, with sign up box and sign up button drawing in the users' eyes.

Below is a terrible example of what I want, but may give you some insight into what to do. Whoever wins the contest gets the prize. Thanks!

I think all of you have disregarded the example that I attached. I want the background to be a very high quality picture of a city. It can be a real city, cartoon city, but has to be a city. Then there has to be some sort of design over the background that conveys a connection between multiple users. So far the entries look sloppy, and they do not clearly convey to users what the site is supposed to be about.

  Maybe you can be more explicit, and tell us the name of the city ( if it will be a city social site), I'm not going to arbitrary take a picture of any city if the site will be, for example, a social web from New York.
  You can tell us your page url/name. Maybe you can give us your logo?
  
  So, you want homepage very similar than your attachment, but with different ppl inside the image bubbles ( not only lovers). (?)
