We are building a house in Manly, Australia and we need illustrations that will be printed onto wallpaper.
If you wish to arrange the printing and wallpaper and arrange shipping that would be useful - it is not a requirement but we can pay you for the service. A bit of research with potential printers will help you understand what can and cant be done with bespoke wallpaper design and printing.
Manly has great historical importance in Australia, in particular as it was variously the place where European settlers first encountered and interacted with the native Aboriginal people. The prominent Aboriginal characters of Colonial-era Australia came from the area and this project seeks to depict their importance and stature.
After early peaceful encounters, Manly was the site at which the local Governor of the original European settlement was speared by a native and the place where the Europeans kidnapped two Aboriginals so that they could better understand Aboriginal culture.
The illustrations needed are of the following people. Please read beyond the links provided and use your research to help inform the colours that you want to use and what you wish to depict.
Bennelong & Colbey (also spelled Colebee, Colbee and Colby)
- both were kidnapped, 25 November 1789
- Bennelong was present at the spearing of Governor Phillip, 7 September 1790.
- Bennelong travelled by ship to meet the King in 1792

Feedback do Empregador
“Ours was quite a tricky project that required high level artistic skills. The respondents needed to be excellent researchers with an eye for detail, storytelling and and in interest in local history (which is hard from the other side of the world!). adahertmann achieved everything that we wanted and was very impressive and friendly throughout.”
