We are students and teachers in high school house (imagine Griffindor House at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter books!). We have a house crest/coat of arms but it needs an update/reimagining/modernising. We want it exciting for students aged 10 - 18. The crest is below. We must keep the colours light and hot PINK, and the basic design of the crest (split in 2 with a four leaf clover and an Australian Federation star). While our house colour is PINK we also use the colours black and white a lot in our house.PINK must be the dominant colour but black/white as secondary colours are OK. We must keep a shield background split in half etc.
In the middle of the existing shield is the head of a "screaming Griffin". (A Griffin is a creature with the head/wings and claws of an eagle on the body of a lion - google it!) We can change the type of griffin in the middle of the crest. We can change the shape of the shield. We must have 8 balls (roundells) represented somewhere in the artwork. We are open to clever new ideas such as a griffin holding the completed shield or getting rid of the staff and cross shape in grey. The name of our house is Loretto. We would like the word to appear somewhere in the design - perhaps on a ribbon? We have included our existing crest in the files. We have also included a few other designs that we liked the style of to guide you a bit... but we are open to you being creative.

Entries 5, 8, 2 and 7 are what we find interesting. Entry 8 and 2 use the half shield - this is excellent. Entries 8 and 2 use colours as we need them. Entry 5 and 8 have a good idea with dots where they are. (Entry 7 tries something interesting here also. The dots above the shield are a good position we think. We think the griffin shape on the shield as in Entry 5 is good. Maybe it needs to be black? Entry 7 has much to change/improve but it tried to experiment with the griffin holding the shield - while we don't think that works, it made us think further. We have a mascot. It is a pink gorilla. Perhaps IF THE SHIELD WERE AS DESCRIBED HERE, a GORILLA incorporated might be clever?

  If you were to merge some of your ideas in your Little Pros Soccer Academy design (in portfolio) with elements of Entry #3 we could be starting to head into the direction we are hoping for. Thank you for your work so far.

There is some way to go with these designs before we would award the prize to any but some elements are interesting and a good start.

  Entry 1: We like the 8 balls across the top for the shield and the traditional style. The ribbons are interesting for us. We would not include a date but would be inclined to put LORETTO where you have a date. Entry 2: We like the strong/striking design but it is more like a logo than a crest. Entry 3: Having 2 shades of pink through the shield and a very strong use of the 4 leaf clover and Federation Star are strong elements. Entry 2: Is another striking design. WE like that you are continuing to try and include 8 balls.
