Our church is re-branding and looking for a unique, modern, stylish and iconic insignia. Ideally, insignia would represent our church's strategy (Focus. Risk. Impact.)

Our desire for a logo:

"Distinctive. Memorable. And timeless. It is aesthetically pleasing. It is scalable, looking good while as large as a billboard or as small as a dime. It looks good in color as well as black and white. And it is simple enough that it can be applied to a media spectrum as broad as paper to plastic and t-shirts to websites. Most importantly, a good logo communicates the unique qualities of its brand."

We are looking for an icon/symbol/emblem/insignia. If something can be done with "SLC" that does not compete with additional text, then go for it. Same goes for an "S". If it can be woven into the emblem creatively, but avoid competing with other text, then give it a shot. Ideally though, a uniquely visual piece that encompasses 'Shadow Lake Christian Church' without words is what we're after.

Also, based on current submissions we've seen, visually incorporating our slogan (Focus. Risk. Impact) or water elements is a good direction. We've also tossed around ideas of focus (eye), risk (heart), impact (??). We're excited to see what you continue to come up with.

All submissions should be made in grayscale, along with any color designs.

I would like to clarify what 'type' of church we are to help steer the designs. We are a Christian church, but non-traditional or orthodox. Orthodox design elements to avoid would include traditional church shapes, rosaries, stained glass, Catholic symbolism, etc. Please see the links referenced in the contest notes for common examples.
