I've got a rough layout for a playing card for my board game which includes poker-size playing card elements, but I'd like to improve the look of the card template - at the moment they are too stark and plain and at the very least need texture and lighting added.
Happy for changes in layout, but the visual elements in the 'template' sample have to be present. These include...
* An action cost for the card, prominently displayed.
* One or more 'resources' used to craft the card (not present on all cards).
* An image to be displayed. Note that this can be smaller than the image shown on the template.
* Action text.
* The name of the card
* The type name and a unique colour for the type of card (Equipment, Skill etc.)
* Keywords describing the card.
It would be fantastic if the artwork could be layered so that individual elements may be removed/disabled if not required. Please do not 'bake-in' any text. Poker size card, Illustrator and Photoshop templates provided.
The game is based loosely on the old science-fiction movie 'Them', which involves giant ants taking over the town. The original 50's movie poster for that movie (and similar B-grade Sci-Fi movies of the era) would be a good reference for art style.
There will be several card decks, so room on the back of the card for a cart type logo or text would be nice. Perhaps the name of the card written in an extremely bold. graphic font like the 'Them' movie poster.
The game is set in a US inland desert town in the late 40's to late 50's, so any natural textures should be sand or stone that works with the environment. Design/artwork reminiscent of 50s movie posters would be great, but given the limited canvas is not required.
Photoshop or Illustrator files preferred for delivery.
Winner will of course be given 'first dibs' at any further jobs creating more artwork for the game.
