We source objets and gems personally around the world eg 2020-Burmese lacquer in Bagan; 2019-Lebanese copperware in Tripoli; 2018-Furniture in Guanxi China, 2017-khatam marquetry in Iran etc etc
One founder designs original jewellery using precious gems & pearls sourced on our travels & commissioned from gold- and silversmiths in various parts of world. We also curate unusual pieces from other designers.
Products are rare, unusual and mid to high-value although not branded
Provenance, rarity, ethics and stories of sourcing is important selling point.
Average customer is female 40 to 65 years; confident, well-travelled, has high discretionary spend and is interested in exclusivity, originality and beauty; traditional branding is a negative factor.
Drift is often described a a gallery rather than a shop.
Old logo is dated and needs refreshing (see attached) as scope of merchandise has expanded and moved up-market.
Name, Drift, will continue to be used.
