I have an iPhone app available in the app store that needs to be rewritten. This contest is for building a working prototype that showcases your graphic design and user interface design skills. I don't expect the entire app to be rewritten. I don't expect working code. What I want to see is new graphics and a new user interface. I will engage the winner in an on-going project to finish and enhance the app.
Note: The app is only available from the US store. I've attached a screen shot of the main page in case you can't view the actual app. I've also attached a flash demo video. Drag the [login to view URL] file into an empty browser window to view.
The app is an airfare price search. You can find it in the store either under its current name "Airfare Alerts by Vigilance" or its soon to be released name of "Vigilance: Airfare Edition". Either way, the app is published by Nerd Power Incorporated.
To win this contest, the app must have the following parts.
1. App icon
2. Splash screen
3. Main page
For the app icon and splash screen, I'll be judging you on your graphic art skills. The main page will be used to judge your user interface design. Please use the app name "Vigilance: Airfare Edition" for the splash screen.
The main page should accept inputs for departure airport (from), destination airport (to), departure date, and return date. There should be one output, the lowest price. The user should be able to enter the 4 required fields and in return be given a price.
Once a price is displayed, there should be an indicator that alerts are turned on for this airfare search. The user should be able to deactivate alerts.
The from and to airports don't have to be a complete list. Just choose 3-5 to use in the prototype. I'm more interested in functionality rather than content.
