Creative Brief: Sahara Sultan Logo Design
About Sahara
Sahara Sultan is a young creative with an exceptional eye for fashion, design, and visual storytelling. She's a gifted thrifter who finds beauty in the overlooked, a natural visual merchandiser, and someone whose taste pulls from across decades and disciplines. SaharaSultan.com will become the home of her creative work, which sits at the intersection of fashion, styling, and design consultancy.

Vintage Soul, Modern Eye
What we need
A primary logo (wordmark or lettermark) for SaharaSultan.com, plus a secondary mark or monogram that works as a favicon, social avatar, and stamp on imagery.
Tone and feeling
The logo should feel like someone with old-world taste living in a current moment. Think the confidence of a vintage couture label paired with the restraint of a contemporary independent brand. It should feel curated, not loud. Personal, not corporate. The kind of mark you'd see embossed on a thick card or stitched into the inside of a jacket.
Style direction
Vintage, in the European sense. Think a 1960s couture house, a Milanese atelier, or the inside label of a beautifully made coat from a Parisian boutique. Refined, typographic, quietly confident. We are not looking for Americana, speakeasy, craft beer, barbershop, or distressed "aged" aesthetics. The mark should feel like it has always existed, not like it has been artificially aged.
Visual direction
Typographic-led concepts. The name itself, Sahara Sultan, has rhythm and elegance built in (the two S's, the symmetry, the soft vowels) and the logo should let that do the work. Open to serif, custom letterforms, or hand-drawn approaches. The "modern eye" comes through in restraint and precision, not in the typeface itself.
Avoid generic fashion-blogger script fonts, anything overtly trendy, and literal symbols (no camels, no deserts, no crowns, no fashion icons like hangers or scissors).
Colour palette
Show concepts in black on off-white as the primary. Designers can propose one accent palette, but the mark must be strong without colour.
A note on craft
All concepts must be original, human-designed work. We are looking for designers who can draw and think typographically, not AI-generated marks.
What to avoid
Overly ornate flourishes. Pastel "girlboss" aesthetics. Thin geometric minimalism. Anything that looks like a wellness brand, a candle company, or a stock template.
Round one deliverables
Primary wordmark and secondary monogram, both on a neutral background. Finalists will be asked for full vector files (AI, SVG, PDF), black and white versions, colour variations, and one mockup showing the logo applied to a business card or garment label.
