Contest Brief

This website is for a wedding umbrella hire website that is close to completion but we are in need of some design tweaks to ensure that it is modern and professional.
We would like for the final design to incorporate elements of http://www.hire-an-umbrella.com.au/ (old site) and (home.jpg) new design that is easy for users to navigate and is visually appealing.
Please ensure the headings are less rigid than home.jpg and sourced from google fonts (https://www.google.com/fonts). Please use the red/grey colour combination that can be seen in home.jpg.
The winning design will include all of the following mockups incorporating the points listed:
Home page: (home.jpg)
- The text overlay “Enjoy the peace of mind…” is to be used as an overlay to the hero image (home.jpg) in such a way that it doesn’t obstruct the focus of the image as it currently does.
- Better incorporation of “My umbrellas” button. This will act like a cart and should display the quantity as seen in the top right of the menu.
- Display product categories ie: Wedding Umbrellas etc. in a clean and user friendly way with more focus on the title of the category name.
- The users of the site are interested in weather forecasts as seen on the widget on the old site (http://www.hire-an-umbrella.com.au/). They have the ability to sign up for a newsletter which keeps them updated. For this new site we will have a call to action device that will take them to the signup page. Please create the styling of this call to action, that neatly fits in with the styling of the site. This should only include the message “Keep updated with weather forecasts surrounding your big day”.
- Testimonials are to be displayed in the footer as per (home.jpg). These testimonials have to ability to cycle and therefore you should keep the directional arrows as they serve as navigational toggles.
- The width of the main content should remain within 1200px but areas like the hero image and footer can stretch to full screen if you feel it looks better.
Inner pages: (inner-page.jpg)
- Please change styling so it is clean and user friendly.
Products page: (products-page.jpg)
- This will be were users choose products to view more information and therefore products should be displayed neatly and in an accessibly fashion.
- Please ensure that product headings are readable and clear.
Product modal: (item.jpg)
- This is where users add umbrella’s to their cart and therefore should be easy to navigate.
- Include product options and an input for users to add quantities.
- Include “Add to selection” button.
- Include product images and thumbnails for more product images. If the user clicks on a thumbnail, this will then display a larger version of that image.
Cart checkout: (cart.jpg)
- This is where users will finalise their purchase and should be styled using modern checkout user interface.
- Include the ability for users to remove products.
- The information displayed should include the category name eg. Feature umbrellas, product name eg, Rainbow, type name eg multi, quantity, hire price, buy price.
- At the bottom of the page the users will have the ability to choose either to hire or purchase their selection. More emphasis should be places on hire.
In summary we require:
1 x home page design
1 x inner page design
1 x products page design
1 x product modal design
1 x cart checkout design
