Seeking to update our website to using WordPress CMS. You can view the current site at http://cougarcookers.org.
The main goal of this effort right now is to find an attractive design that our board and committee members can agree on.
Please see the following notes:
-- The site should be responsive and usable on a variety of devices
-- The menus and content will remain mostly the same.
-- The dates of our annual event should be prominently displayed on the home page
-- The home page should have a space for a news feed (we don't have a blog, but blog entries could be used to show the latest update) so that we can highlight donation deadlines and other updates to our donors
-- The Cookoff <YEAR> section can be made into one page.
-- I would like to convert the "Donors" section into multiple columns that features the CC Elite Donors, Shasta Donors, and Life Members. But also makes better usage of space for all other donor types.
-- The "Donate" page should be a cart (5-10 "products" / donation levels) where users can choose a donation level and a option to include $10 shipping or not.
-- The cart should work with PayPal and save the Donor's form submissions to the WordPress database. We should get notifications upon completion of successful transactions. (and also unsuccessful transactions to the administrator only)
-- The site should have a Photo Gallery area, with each year as an album.
Nice to have:
-- The items available on the "Donate" page should be date sensitive. Like, on date X the price goes from $600 to $650. On date Z the product is no longer available
-- The Donors section of the Cookoff <YEAR> section feed from the table of donors who have completed and paid for their donation
-- Each year we have an annual event. In Admin section, would like to have an event setup page. Enter the Year and the cookoff dates. Then we can use wildacards throughout the site, like %cookoffyear%, which would then be replaced by "2020" from the event setup page.
