So that means you've sat for hours researching who your ideal customer is, what makes them tick, and - more importantly - the words they use to describe the problem you solve. You've cast aside your perception of your business and audience and objectified them...completely objectively. You've then turned those words into copy that hits them where it hurts, and the really good stuff will engage the rest of your target audience. Then you test it, chew it up, spit it out, try again. And again. If that's the case, then you don't need me. You're already a copywriter. -------- For those of you who have 2 more minutes to spare, then it's storytime. In the old days, I ran a lot of successful restaurants and bars. Some had over a hundred people working under my stewardship. Now, I made it my business to take the time to understand each of their roles - not easy at times for that many people. I washed dishes once in a while, poured (and tried!) a lot of glasses of wine and cocktails, and garnished plenty of creme brulees. I could even put together a very tasty medium-rare wagyu beef burger. It wouldn't win any awards, but it would do the job. If I wanted a restaurant to get rosette recognition though, I needed a specialist chef. A team of them, in fact. And a team of waiting staff and bartenders who could produce the very best service and drinks. And definitely a maitre de who knew exactly how to engage with every customer who came through the door. Your business is no different. An accountant will do your books and save you money quicker than you ever could. If you want a website that works seamlessly you call a web designer. An SEO expert will help get you organic traffic better than you can. A copywriter will make visitors do what you want them to do. They are your maitre de, grill chef, cocktail bartender, and your career waiter. Try and get a rosette with a bartender cooking your coq au vin... You want your rosette? Get a specialist. menos
