I've configured OpenVPN on Freebsd. VPN server is connecting and can ping the gateway from connected PC. But firewall/nat is not working. I need to Divert http to my internal web servers via IPFW in FreeBSD It is about setting up a firewall in FreeBSD 9.2-Release, so that it can divert incoming HTTP traffic targeting on my public IP addresses into 2 internal web servers. I have set it up, but doesn't divert http to my internal web servers. Apart from these, everything else is working fine. We need to run the filter locally...proxy server but disallowed for everything else on specified ports. We propose a kernel module to block traffic on a per application basis, with the ability to block all traffic except from the proxy server. It must not be possible to bypass this as an unprivilidged user, and it must be possible to enable or disable the block on specific ports from userspace. Other implementation ideas welcomed, ipfw seems to be too buggy (lock reversal with uid matching). Full source to be provided, with IPR ownership transferred to us. Hi, I am looking for a script that will read a database and create rules in the freebsd IPFW rule set. Basically the rules will have standard open ports such as port 80 etc so that the machine will run. However ports such as 22 for shell will be always closed. What we then want to do is for a script to read the database of ports and IP addresses which are allowed access to the given ports and the rules to then be updated accordingly.

I have a challenge that goes for years, creating thousands of precise rules dummynet/count for each ip /32 on FreeBSD, it may be version 6 through 8, when it reaches a certain amount, the network is slow and packet loss occurs . below is a thread that opened in 2009 with every course.
