We need a PHP script, that could read with OCR (i saw there is a Php class for this: phpOCR)a jpeg file to extract some data from that image For instance, the script would read a passport copy in jpeg and extract the last name, first name, date of birth, place of birth, passport number... and save it into a php/xml/txt file or in a database. If it's not possible in PHP then we can see for an other language/protocol/process. thank you in advance

i need code developed for an online application that would extract data from an image or a pdf file. the images and pdf files are going to have a consistent look, meaning the same type of information is going to be in the same area. e.g. a book cover from a certain publisher may have the bar code or title in the same area at the back of the book. so when i upload a...covers of a book from publisher X, i can select the regions that i want extracted once (as a template) and everytime i upload images from the same publisher, i want the infomation to be extracted. you should use ajax as much as possible to reduce loading time and page refreshes. code should be done in php. i believe there are OCR classes available in PHP for this as well. phpOCR...

I need some PHP script to do very easy OCR jobs on images that contains only numbers (always same size). Preferably using pure PHP, or using external Linux (Debian/ubuntu) tool provided it could be called from php via classical args (ie I heard about Tesseract-OCR & phpOCR ). see the samples below.
