Dear Client, I propose to convert your 2D drawing into a parametric SolidWorks model and develop a foundry pattern for the agreed wooden or aluminium construction. Before modelling, I will review the drawing, casting material, moulding process, and your foundry's requirements for shrinkage allowance, machining allowance, draft, parting arrangement, and core prints where applicable. These inputs will be confirmed rather than assumed. Deliverables will include the native SolidWorks file with an organised feature tree, a STEP export, and a dimensioned PDF showing the pattern geometry and agreed allowances. Foundry patterns usually need draft angles and shrinkage allowance built into the model before it goes to the pattern shop — does your 2D drawing already specify shrink rate for the wooden vs aluminum versions, or should I apply standard foundry allowances myself?
