Two questions: 1) How should the cover stack when open—one 40' panel, two 20' halves meeting mid-span, or multi-segment panels nesting along a side—and what clear space is available for the stack? 2) What site parameters should I design to (deck material/thickness for anchors, coping profile, local wind/snow loads/code), and is the pool flush with the deck? Suggestions: 1) Use a duplex coating—hot-dip galvanizing (ASTM A123) + polyester powder coat—with 316 fasteners, sealed polymer wheels on stainless axles, and self-draining tracks. 2) Make panels modular (<75 lb each) with low-friction V-groove or crowned rollers and adjustable preload; run quick FEA to limit deflection and size anti-lift pins for wind uplift.
