I have a 2-D drawing of a mechanical part that now needs to become a fully printable 3-D model. The part must carry over every contour, hole, and surface finish shown in the sketch, right down to textured areas and any call-outs I provide, so the finished STL looks and feels exactly like the real component once it comes off the printer. You’ll be working to my own custom guidelines rather than a published standard. I’ll share a brief that spells out tolerances, filament-friendly wall thicknesses, preferred orientation for support minimisation, and the small cosmetic textures that need to appear on two faces. Accuracy matters: key dimensions must stay within ±0.05 mm Software choice is up to you—SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, Blender, or any other package that exports clean, manifold STLs is fine—as long as the result slices without errors in Cura and PrusaSlicer. Deliverables: • Native CAD file (e.g. SLDPRT, F3D, or BLEND) • Watertight STL ready for FDM/SLA printing • A quick screen grab or PDF showing major dimensions for verification I can get the reference drawing to you as soon as we agree to proceed and will be available for prompt feedback during modelling. This is small 20mmx50mmx35mm with simple right angles and a 30 degree angle too.
