I already have the electrical trigger sorted—I can close a relay on command—so what I need now is the physical device that releases a single D-cell (originally horizontally oriented), guides it down a short chute, twists its orientation to vertical, and lets it “stick the landing” on its negative end against a small table-mounted magnet. You’ll take the idea from concept to working prototype: • Design a compact, good-looking drop tube. I’m open to either a well-finished plastic print or a machined metal sleeve, as long as the result feels solid and attractive on the bench. • Specify and integrate the solenoid release. A pull-type makes sense, yet if you see advantages in a push configuration that nudges the cell off a ledge, I’m flexible. • Build and assemble the full mechanism, including the twist at the end of the chute that turns the battery upright. • Bench-test the unit so I receive a plug-and-play assembly: connect my relay leads, load a D-cell, and watch it drop cleanly every time. Obviously, there needs to be a way to 'load' the device. And ideally not an obvious way to 'unload' it, without the intended battery drop. Please include any CAD files and a short test video with the shipped hardware so I can confirm repeatability before installation. (Attached video shows our current version, which drops unreliably, and doesn't achieve the vertical end landing).
