I am looking to hire a freelancer who can design and come up with the CAD files for my requirement of a wrist-mounted manual scorekeeper—think “tennis point tracker” on a strap—fully modelled in preliminary CAD. I need a partner who can quote and fine-tune the design for manufacture. The finished product must offer a smooth yet positive rotational feel with clear detent indexing. A smooth, matte surface is essential, so material choice and tool finish matter. At this stage I’m comparing ABS, PC-ABS and POM; I’d value your recommendation based on texture durability, mould flow and cosmetic quality. Beyond the numbers, I’m also looking for light manufacturing optimisation on the existing CAD/STEP—gate placement, draft, shut-offs, tolerance tweaks—nothing that changes the overall form or function, just what’s needed for confident tooling. Suggestions: • Materials: ABS housing with VDI 21–27 texture for durable, even matte; move to PC-ABS only if a higher drop spec is required (it’s more flow‑sensitive cosmetically). Discs in POM‑C (optional PTFE‑filled) for low friction/wear; pad print needs flame/corona + adhesion promoter. • DFM: gate at disc hubs; 1.5–2° draft on textured faces; 0.05–0.08 mm running clearance; molded pocket to locate the spring; family tool for the four discs to level unit cost.
