The clean catalogue shots need to be consistent and honest: pure white background, web-ready, the same lighting and camera setup across front, side and top for every piece so a customer comparing designs sees them on equal terms, and the metal and stones reading true rather than exaggerated. For those, consistency across the whole range matters more than drama. The lifestyle images are the opposite - they need mood, context and light that makes the piece desirable. That is where the craft shows: gemstones only look real with correct refraction and dispersion (the fire inside a stone), and metal only reads as gold or platinum with the right reflections of a considered environment rather than a grey studio. I build the materials properly rather than relying on a default shiny shader, which is what separates a jewellery render that sells from one that looks like plastic.
