Setup Cross Domain Tracking for Google Analytics / Adwords

I have an existing site that has an externally hosted form (with [url removed, login to view]). When a user completes the form, I want it to be recognised as a conversion in Adwords. I have it working in analytics, but not in Adwords, despite the conversion goal being setup in Adwords.
Google have told me that I need to setup cross domain tracking (because of the externally hosted form), which I have tried to do but it is not working.
Please ONLY bid if you have experience with cross domain tracking. It is quite technical, so easy to do incorrectly.
To win the job you will need to demonstrate that you have done this exact job before. If you have done it with typeform forms, even better.

hi, I know cross domain very well, if you use adwords code btw. (instead of importing the goal)then cross domain is not necessary but let us have a look
