I need some graphic design. Graphic novel panels for 60- page paperback guide to navigating mental health and social services for young adults. Estimating approximately 40 three-panel illustrations. (Could be four panel or more; this is a guideline.) We are thinking three-panel type graphic illustration in which characters are conveying personal experiences or advice based on topics such as choosing a therapist, what to do if someone's not listening, what to know about professional titles, keeping good records, asking questions that produce useful answers, avoiding medication mix-ups, etc. The illustration on each page may be interspersed wiith sidebars containing more concentrated text. Character dialog In panels needs a conversational, peer-to-peer, gentle but ironic [url removed, login to view] would write much of this but hope illustrator also has a voice and can contribute to shaping this dialog based on our content and other content submitted by a board of young adult contributors. The graphic design we envision is stylized, as we strive to reflect diversity (racial, ethnic, gender, sexual identity) but wish to avoid the "one of each" look with issues of who is in the lead or authority position in the group. If possible, the overall look should be thematically tied to another book in the same series which uses graphic icons as an illustration device. This might provide a starting place for ideas on this project.
