I need two separate but linkable figures for a scholarly paper that I am publishing soon. The topic is power.
I want to have readers see two basic modes of power contrasted. Namely "power over/domination" and "power with/partnership". So perhaps Image A: “Power-over” looks like a pyramid or dominator hierarchy - e.g., a really bad boss lords over his minions.. And Image B: “Power-with” looks like convivial collaboration.
I am thinking of the first as a classic masculine triangular hierarchy and the second as more of a circle that's open to outsiders...more feminine.
I will reuse the figure in other contexts also such as when I give talks. The issue of power is important in all I do.
In sum: the fundamental message I want to convey is of moving from a "power over" to "power with" orientation. Any help in presenting that visually will be extraordinarily useful. It has to be a simple figure to fit into my (scholarly) work.
