The CAD geometry is already finished in SolidWorks and exported (STEP and native files). I now want to see how it behaves under impact, so your job is to bring that model into Abaqus and run a full dynamic-explicit simulation focused on impact response. Key points to cover • Cleanly import the geometry, repair if needed, and create a solid mesh suitable for high-speed contact events. • Assign a hyperelastic material law; I will supply the test data curves, but you may need to fit them in Abaqus/CAE. • Define contact, boundary conditions, initial velocity or impact energy, and an appropriate analysis step so that the results capture stresses, strains, and deformation history without excessive run time. • Provide contour plots, time-history graphs, and the complete .cae/.odb files so I can review and re-run the study. Acceptance criteria 1. The simulation runs without errors or mass scaling warnings. 2. Maximum element distortion remains within Abaqus recommendations. 3. Results replicate expected trend from similar tests (I’ll share benchmark numbers). Send a brief outline of how you plan to set up the model, your expected mesh size, and which hyperelastic model (Ogden, Mooney-Rivlin, etc.) you recommend.

I have completed similar nonlinear FEA and impact-analysis projects involving hyperelastic materials, explicit dynamics, and high-speed contact simulations using Abaqus for validation against physical test data. I’m a Mechanical & Simulation Engineer experienced in impact-response modeling, mesh optimization, and material calibration for dynamic-explicit studies. Monitor element quality, energy balance, and distortion to maintain solver stability without excessive mass scaling For impact simulations involving large deformation, I typically recommend: Ogden model for highly nonlinear rubber-like response Mooney-Rivlin for moderate deformation behavior and faster calibration Reduced-integration hex/tet hybrid elements where appropriate Deliverables: Abaqus .cae and .odb files Stress/strain/deformation contour plots Time-history graphs Mesh and material setup documentation Summary of parameter calibration and validation against benchmark data The workflow will focus on achieving accurate impact trends while keeping runtime practical and maintaining Abaqus explicit stability criteria. Hello, I can run your SolidWorks model in Abaqus and perform a full dynamic explicit impact simulation to study stress, strain, and deformation behavior. I will import and clean the geometry, prepare a suitable mesh, define the hyperelastic material using your test data, and set up contact, boundary conditions, and impact loading. The simulation will be run in Abaqus/Explicit with stable and accurate results. You will receive the complete .cae and .odb files, along with contour plots and basic time-history graphs for review. I will ensure the model runs without errors and gives physically realistic impact response. Ready to start once the files are shared. Best regards,

I understand you need a dynamic-explicit Abaqus simulation to analyze the impact response of your SolidWorks geometry. I've successfully performed similar high-speed contact event simulations, including material parameter fitting and meshing for complex geometries, delivering clear stress and deformation plots for critical impact scenarios. My process will involve importing your STEP/native SolidWorks files into Abaqus/CAE, cleaning and repairing any geometry imperfections, and generating a structured, high-quality solid mesh optimized for explicit dynamics. I'll then assign the hyperelastic material model using the test data you provide, fitting parameters within Abaqus/CAE as needed. Finally, I'll define the explicit contact, apply boundary conditions, set the initial velocity, and run the simulation to capture the impact behavior. What is the expected duration of the impact event you're most interested in capturing? Ready to start as soon as you confirm scope.

Hi, I'm a simulation engineer with hands-on Abaqus/Explicit experience covering hyperelastic materials, high-speed contact, and ODB post-processing. My approach: • Geometry: Import your STEP into Abaqus/CAE, run diagnostics, repair as needed. Mesh with C3D8R hex elements (enhanced hourglass control) or we can also use shell elements S4R based on feasibility of geometry. I would calculate the minimum element size based on wave propagation. • Material: . I'll fit all the material model candidates in CAE's material evaluator and confirm stability flags before proceeding. Also, it depends on test data you have whether its uniaxial and/or biaxial. • Analysis: Dynamic/Explicit step sized to capture full impact and rebound. General contact with hard normal behaviour, penalty friction (μ=0.3). Mass scaling avoided; energy balance (ALLKE,ALLSE,ALLPD,ETOTAL) monitored throughout. Especially impact time where Internal energy and Kinetic energy cross each other. • Deliverables: .cae + .odb files, Mises/strain/displacement contour plots, contact force and energy time-history graphs, and a concise assumptions note. All three acceptance criteria — error-free run, distortion limits, benchmark match — are directly addressed in my workflow. Quick questions before I start: — Rigid or deformable impactor? — Impact velocity or drop height? — Solid elastomer or foam? Share your STEP file, test curves, and benchmark numbers and I can begin immediately. Looking forward to work with you.

I can help you set up and run the impact simulation in Abaqus/Explicit using your existing SolidWorks model (STEP or native files). First, I will import and clean the geometry if needed, then create a good quality solid mesh suitable for impact analysis and contact conditions. I will also fit the hyperelastic material model in Abaqus using the test data you provide and choose the most suitable model such as Ogden or Mooney-Rivlin based on the material behavior. The simulation setup will include proper contact definitions, boundary conditions, and impact velocity/energy so that the results capture stresses, strains, and deformation accurately while keeping the run time reasonable. After completion, I will provide contour plots, deformation results, time-history graphs, and the final .cae and .odb files so you can review and rerun the analysis easily. I will also ensure the model runs without major errors and compare the results with your benchmark values.

Hello, I can assist with this impact simulation study in Abaqus. My background is primarily in nonlinear FEA and impact analysis, and I have worked on similar projects involving hyperelastic rubber components using the Ogden material model in OptiStruct. These projects included material calibration, contact definition, large deformation behavior, and evaluation of stress-strain response under dynamic loading. For your model, I will import and verify the geometry, generate a suitable mesh for explicit impact analysis, fit the supplied hyperelastic test data, and set up the contact and impact conditions in Abaqus/Explicit. Based on my experience, Ogden is often a good choice for rubber impact applications, though I can compare it with other models if needed. I also have experience with structural explicit analyses in Abaqus, including contact interactions, impact loading, energy balance checks, and controlling element distortion to ensure stable and reliable results. Deliverables will include the .cae and .odb files, contour plots, time-history results, and comparison with your benchmark data. Please share the geometry and material test data, and I can review them before starting. I look forward to discussing the project.

Hi, I’m a mechanical engineer with 15+ years of experience in advanced nonlinear FEA, mainly using Abaqus for impact simulations, hyperelastic materials, large deformation, and complex contact problems. I can import the SolidWorks geometry, prepare a robust Explicit Dynamic model, fit the supplied material test data (Ogden or Mooney-Rivlin, depending on the material behavior), and evaluate the impact response under realistic loading conditions. The analysis will include: * Hyperelastic material calibration from test data * High-quality mesh suitable for impact events * Contact definition, impact velocity/energy setup, and stability verification * Stress, strain, deformation, and energy history evaluation * Contour plots, time-history graphs, and animations Deliverables will include the complete Abaqus files (.cae, .odb), result visualizations, and a concise technical report summarizing the methodology and key findings. The platform doesn't allow me to attach files to this initial proposal. If you reply and open the chat, I'll be happy to share examples of previous Abaqus impact studies, technical reports, animations, and high-resolution result plots so you can assess the quality and level of detail of my work. Best regards, Faouzi BAILA Mechanical Engineer | FEA Specialist (Abaqus)
