I am currently doing my part time degree in mechanical engineering. I have my final year project(FYP) to be done. This FYP project is purely theoretical and no actual production will be done. The school requires me to relate my FYP to my work's industry.

My company, which is an Audio, Visual and Control systems integrator, was founded locally in 2004. We design, supply and install these systems to both local and overseas clients. These involve Sound Reinforcement, Video Projection, Stage and Architectural Lighting and Automated Control systems.
Video Projection is mainly achieved by using video projectors, Light Emitting Diode (LED) television, LED monitors and LED panels. In this study I will focus on one of the main limitations of video projection using video projectors.
Conventional projectors are widely used in many educational institutions, places of worship, corporate buildings and even in hotels which makes this study current and relevant to my industry.
Currently, conventional projectors have a limitation of throw distance (distance between the projector and the screen) once they have been installed in a fixed location. After setting the throw distance between, the image projected will be fixed at a certain size.
I want to overcome this limitation by introducing an external lens system for the projector to be able to vary its “focal length” which will enable the projector to have a variable image throw distance.
