World Hunger: 12 Myths Project
The Small Planet Institute seeks an experienced research fellow to provide support to three authors working collaboratively on a sequel to World Hunger: 12 Myths. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with Frances Moore Lappé, Joseph Collins, and Peter Rosset, and in a small organization doing groundbreaking work on hunger, poverty, food sustainability, and living democracy.
Commitment of 12-15 hours per week or more at regular, mutually agreed upon times in our Cambridge office
Must be based in the greater Boston area
Knowledge of, and background in, issues related to world hunger
Preference will be given to candidates who can stay through May.
The primary responsibilities of this Research Fellow will be two-fold: to support Ms. Lappé in conceptualizing, planning, and weaving together her contribution to the book and to assist all of the authors with research queries on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities include thinking through complex arguments and issues pertaining to the causes and solutions to world hunger, data-mining, fact-checking, creating endnotes, analyzing reports, and compiling and summarizing materials.

Experience in citation management tools, manipulating raw data (USDA ERS, FAO STAT, etc), copy-editing skills, intellectual curiosity!
This Fellowship carries a modest negotiable stipend depending on qualifications and availability.
