Accounting Professional: Sr. Accounting Manager to Controller Experience

We are seeking an interim accounting professional with core competencies in GAAP to assume the task and functions of a controller position for up to 2 months. Location: Lake Forest, California Business Operating Days/Time: Monday - Friday | 7:00AM - 4:00PM Position Summary: Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller supervises all activities of the Accounting staff by providing guidance and training, while ensuring best accounting practices are maintained. Candidate must be able to analyze reports and data provided by Accounting staff for reliability and correctness. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Oversee and coordinate all financial activities - Manage the full cycle accounting process through financial statement preparation - Standardize and maintain a system of accounting procedures and records - Perform consolidation and review financials of subsidiary companies - Automate all system processes and establish control procedures - Maintain an effective cash management system and provide cash flow reports - Manage FX and determine appropriate cash balances per bank account - Perform inventory audit to reconcile book to physical balances including cycle counts - Close ERP Inventory module when transactions are complete - Set up and maintain accruals for expenses - Create and post selected journal entries - Perform account analysis for selected accounts - Assist in completion of annual reviews and audits by CPA firm - Interface with CPA firm; prepare schedules for annual corporate tax returns - Prepare monthly and quarterly sales tax returns and annual property tax returns - Responsible for staff training, supervision and motivation
