We are looking for an experienced **Adobe Acrobat JavaScript / Interactive PDF Developer** to convert our existing product catalogue into an interactive ordering catalogue. We are a B2B wholesale company with an existing PDF product catalogue. We would like customers to be able to browse the catalogue, select products they want to order, enter quantities, and have those selections automatically populate an order form at the end of the PDF. Project Requirements The finished interactive PDF should allow customers to: * Browse our existing catalogue without changing the current catalogue design. * Click an **“Add to Order”** button beside individual products. * Enter or select an order quantity for each product. * Automatically add selected products to a master order form/order summary at the end of the catalogue. * Update the order summary if quantities are changed. * Remove products from the order if required. * Automatically calculate line totals and the overall order total. * Enter customer information such as: * Company name * Customer/account number * Contact name * Email * Phone number * Purchase Order number * Shipping information or notes where applicable Order Form The order form at the end of the catalogue should automatically display selected products and relevant information such as: * SKU/Product Code * Product Description * Quantity Ordered * Case Pack or Pack Size * Unit or Case Price * Line Total * Overall Order Total We will provide the required product information, pricing, SKUs, case packs, and catalogue PDF. CSV / Excel Export A key part of the project is creating an **“Export Order” or “Create CSV”** button. When clicked, the customer's completed order should be exported into a clean CSV or Excel-compatible format. The exported file should contain structured columns such as: SKU | Description | Quantity | Price | Total We would ideally like the CSV structure to be customized so that our internal team can easily copy, import, or process the order within our ERP/order-entry system. Technical Requirements We are specifically looking for someone with experience in: * Adobe Acrobat JavaScript * Acrobat AcroForms * Interactive PDF forms * Document-level JavaScript * Dynamic form calculations * Product selection / order-form logic * CSV or data export from PDF forms * Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader compatibility Experience with regular website JavaScript alone is not sufficient. Please only apply if you have experience developing interactive functionality inside Adobe PDF documents. Compatibility The catalogue should work reliably when opened in **Adobe Acrobat Reader / Adobe Acrobat**. We understand that some browser-based PDF viewers may restrict JavaScript functionality, so the developer should advise us on any compatibility limitations and the best way to distribute the catalogue to customers. What We Will Provide We will provide: * Final PDF catalogue * Product SKUs * Product descriptions * Prices * Case packs * Product ordering information * Desired CSV column structure * Example of our current order-entry format The catalogue design itself is already complete. The main scope of this project is adding the interactive ordering functionality. Deliverables We would like the final delivery to include: * Fully functional interactive PDF catalogue * “Add to Order” functionality throughout the catalogue * Quantity controls * Automatically populated order summary * Automatic pricing and totals * Customer information fields * CSV/Excel-compatible export functionality * Testing in Adobe Acrobat Reader * Source/editable Acrobat form and JavaScript setup so that we can update products or pricing in future * Brief instructions explaining how the interactive features are maintained or updated When Applying Please include: 1. Examples of interactive PDFs or Acrobat forms you have previously created. 2. Details of your experience with Adobe Acrobat JavaScript. 3. Whether you have previously built catalogue ordering systems or PDF order forms. 4. Whether you have experience exporting PDF form data to CSV. 5. Your estimated project cost. 6. Any limitations or technical concerns you foresee with this type of project. We are looking for someone who can build a professional, reliable solution that is simple for our wholesale customers to use.

I’ll preserve the existing catalogue design and use Acrobat document-level JavaScript to connect each product’s “Add to Order” button, quantity field, SKU, pack size, price, and description to a master order summary without altering the artwork. I have experience with Acrobat JavaScript and AcroForms, including calculated fields, repeatable order rows, quantity changes, product removal, customer details, line totals, and overall totals. I’ll create the CSV/Excel-compatible export with your exact ERP column structure, while keeping the source form and product data easy to update. I’ll also account for the Adobe Reader limitation that browser PDF viewers may block JavaScript or file export; the finished interactive PDF, editable setup, and maintenance notes will be delivered in 4 days. Can you provide the catalogue PDF and product spreadsheet in the same initial handoff? Muhammad Saad

Hello. The hardest part of this project is implementing robust Adobe Acrobat JavaScript logic for dynamic product selection, quantity updates, and CSV export within the constraints of Acrobat Reader’s JavaScript engine. Your stack requires deep Acrobat AcroForms and document-level scripting expertise, which fits my experience perfectly. My approach: 1. Analyze your existing PDF catalogue and map all product fields to interactive form elements without altering design. First deliverable: a prototype page with “Add to Order” buttons and quantity inputs fully functional. 2. Develop dynamic order summary logic that updates in real time with line totals and overall total recalculation. 3. Implement customer info fields and integrate a clean CSV export button matching your ERP import format. 4. Test extensively in Adobe Acrobat Reader to ensure compatibility and provide documentation for future updates. I have built interactive Acrobat forms with complex order logic and CSV export for B2B clients, including a wholesale parts catalogue with similar dynamic ordering and export needs. This experience directly addresses the risk of Acrobat JavaScript limitations and data integrity. Please share the current PDF and product data to start the prototype. Best,

Your CSV export will fail if you rely on standard Acrobat JavaScript alone — Adobe Reader blocks file system writes by default, meaning customers won't be able to generate the order file without workarounds like server-side processing or mailto fallbacks that break on modern email clients. Quick questions - are you open to a hybrid solution where the PDF collects order data but triggers a lightweight API call to generate the CSV server-side? And do you have existing infrastructure to receive order submissions, or does everything need to stay self-contained within the PDF? Here is the architectural approach: - ADOBE ACROBAT JAVASCRIPT: Build document-level scripts that manage product selection state, calculate line totals dynamically, and populate the order summary form using AcroForms field calculations. - CSV EXPORT LOGIC: Implement a workaround using either FDF data export with server-side conversion or a mailto-based submission that formats order data as structured text your team can parse into your ERP system. - DATA MANAGEMENT: Structure hidden form fields to store SKU, quantity, and pricing arrays so the order summary updates in real-time when customers modify selections, with validation to prevent duplicate entries or negative quantities. I've built similar interactive order forms for 2 wholesale distributors where we solved the CSV export limitation by integrating a simple webhook that converts FDF submissions into Excel files. Let's schedule a quick call to confirm your distribution method and finalize the export strategy before I start development.

The fragile part in projects like this isn’t the buttons or form fields — it’s getting document‑level JavaScript, field naming, and order‑summary logic to stay perfectly in sync across a long catalogue. If the script architecture isn’t planned upfront, quantities stop updating, totals drift, or the CSV export comes out misaligned with your ERP format. I’d structure the PDF around a consistent field‑naming scheme, product‑level scripts for “Add to Order”, and a single document script that maintains an internal order array. That lets the summary page rebuild itself whenever a quantity changes or an item is removed. Line totals and the grand total would be calculated through Acrobat’s built‑in calculation events rather than scattered custom code. For CSV export, I’d generate a clean, ERP‑friendly string and push it through Acrobat’s saveAs flow so customers get a structured file every time. One thing I’d validate early is compatibility: Reader supports this logic, but browser viewers often block JavaScript entirely — distribution guidance matters. A few focused questions: • Do you want quantities as free‑text fields or dropdowns tied to case packs? • Should the CSV include customer info fields or only product lines? • Roughly how many catalogue items will need “Add to Order” buttons? I can walk you through how the form logic will be structured and how you’ll update pricing later. Juan Pablo

Hi, I am an Adobe Acrobat JavaScript developer with 8 years of rich experience in software development, with a strong background in interactive documents, form automation, calculations, and structured data export. I am familiar with Adobe Acrobat, Acrobat JavaScript, AcroForms, document-level JavaScript, dynamic form calculations, PDF form fields, product selection logic, CSV export, Excel-compatible data, validation, and Adobe Reader compatibility. For your catalogue, I can add product selection and quantity controls without changing the existing design, dynamically populate the final order form, calculate line and overall totals, support removal and quantity updates, and export the completed order in your required CSV structure. I can provide relevant examples privately. The main limitation is that Acrobat JavaScript functionality is most reliable in Adobe Acrobat/Reader, while browser PDF viewers may restrict scripts and file export features, so I would design and test specifically for Acrobat compatibility. I'm an individual freelancer and can work on any time zone you want. Please contact me with the best time for you to have a quick chat. Thanks. Emile.

==== Hi - Truong here ==== "INTERACTIVE PDF ORDERING CATALOGUE" — you need a simple way for wholesale buyers to select products and export orders. I would build the Acrobat JavaScript logic with AcroForms, using product IDs as the link between catalogue buttons and the final order table. The key part is handling quantity changes, removals, totals, and clean CSV export without breaking the existing catalogue design. I would also test the PDF in Acrobat Reader because browser viewers often block PDF scripts. My question: do you already have the catalogue products in Excel format with fixed SKU, price, and pack size columns? Looking forward to work with you

The key technical issue here is building the ordering logic within Acrobat's JavaScript and security model, particularly the multi-line order export, rather than treating the PDF like a normal webpage. I can preserve the existing catalogue design while adding AcroForm controls for product selection and quantity, document-level JavaScript for order-state management, automatic order-summary generation, removals/updates, pricing calculations and customer information. I’ll also implement a user-triggered CSV/Excel-compatible export structured around your ERP columns and test the finished catalogue specifically in Adobe Acrobat Reader/Acrobat, with clear guidance about browser PDF-viewer limitations. I can start immediately after award once the catalogue, product data and required export format are available.

Greetings! I can convert your existing product catalogue into a fully interactive ordering PDF using Adobe Acrobat JavaScript and AcroForms, keeping your current design untouched. I will add "Add to Order" buttons, quantity controls, and a master order summary that auto-populates, updates when quantities change, and allows products to be removed. Line totals and the overall order total will calculate automatically, with customer fields for company name, account number, contact details, PO number, and shipping notes. I will also build the Export Order button that generates a clean CSV with your desired column structure for easy ERP import. I understand the compatibility limits of browser-based PDF viewers and will advise on the best way to distribute the catalogue. Delivery will include the working PDF, tested in Adobe Acrobat Reader, plus the editable form and JavaScript setup and brief maintenance instructions. Happy to discuss cost and any technical concerns. Thanks, Revival

I have experience with interactive PDF workflows and can build this as a self-contained Acrobat/AcroForm solution using document-level JavaScript, calculated fields, product-selection logic, and structured order export. I’d keep your existing catalogue design intact and build the ordering layer around it, including quantity controls, dynamic order summary, customer details, pricing calculations, removal/update logic, and CSV-compatible export. I’d also make the product/pricing data easy to maintain so future catalogue updates don’t require rebuilding the entire logic from scratch. Before implementation, I’d verify the exact Acrobat/Reader compatibility requirements because JavaScript and file-export capabilities can be restricted in browser PDF viewers. I’ll test the completed catalogue in Adobe Acrobat/Reader and provide the editable source, scripts, and a concise maintenance guide. Best Regards, Fizza
