Process that runs on AWS machines without interruptions

The project require:
- a process to run continuously on a AWS virtual machine
- the process gathers data from a particular site
- in case something happens with the process or with the AWS machine, another process or machine needs to "wake up" and take over the process
- I will provide the code (in Python) that needs to be run by the process
- the data will be saved at a "fixed" location, which should stay the same even if the process stops and another one starts
- I already have an AWS account and added a developer user to it
