I am developing a multi-axis motion control system and am looking for a programmer to create a wireless Android interface for it. The system is designed to move still and video cameras, to create smooth motion and special effect shots by precisely controlling the position of each axis of movement. The majority of the motion control elements of the system are controlled by our nearly completed hardware/firmware solution, so we will be able to provide you with all the information you need to communicate with our hardware.
The hardware has an embedded wifi chip that is set for access point mode so the Android application will communicate directly to the system, continually sending and receiving commands and status information. The target device will be the Google Nexus 7 Android tablet.
The app will include a graph with keyframes and bezier curves, similar to those found in editing programs, so advanced graphing knowledge is a plus. A thorough understanding of TCPIP networking and data communication is required, since that how the android tablet will interface with the hardware. The app must look professional and appealing, and be easy to use. I'd prefer the development to done in Eclipse c/c++, and the code must be well documented so we may make modifications in the unforeseen future. This part of the project is for the first bare-bones release of the software, there will be further work at a later date (if the project goes well with you) to add more features to the program.
I am currently organizing screenshots, feature lists, and other information that I will show you if I think you may be appropriate for this job. You MUST be able to speak English well, some of the concepts in our application will require explaining so we will have to use Skype conversations to discuss.
