This project aims in designing a system which makes 230V AC lamp diming through Android smartphone possible. The lamp diming is done wirelessly through Bluetooth feature on smartphone. Microcontroller based system will be used as the dimmer controller. The project main components are the Bluetooth module that will act as a medium for connection between smartphone and light bulb. The smart phone will control the diming of the light bulb wirelessly. This happened by the communication of microcontroller based system with the Bluetooth function on smartphone. The Bluetooth module act as optical isolator with the AC part of the system, it is an open standard specification for RF based short-range connectivity for wireless communication. The operating system use by mobile devices in this project is Android which includes middleware and key applications.
