Our business installs cell boosters and passive DAS systems in building over a large geographical area. Our larger sites have boosters that allow remote monitoring. We are looking to develop a remote monitoring solution that can be used with some of our lower cost offerings.
Our initial testing has been done with an Orange Pi device. We were able to do some rudimentary scripting and get the application to email the results we are looking for. If another platform would better serve this application including LTE and BT at the same price point, we are open to suggestions.
This app will be used to monitor multiple systems. Each system will have an Orange Pi device monitoring it. At a regularly scheduled basis (every 2 hours), script will need to start our app that connects to our smart cell booster via Bluetooth. The booster manufacturer application uses Bluetooth to connect to the booster. If there are multiple boosters, they are identified by serial number or a user-defined hostname, and the user must select which to log in to. If there is only one booster in range, the application automatically connects to that booster. Once in the application, the script will either need to screen scrape the data needed:
Bands being boosted (maximum of 2 bands)
For each band:
-Downlink Echo Gain
-Downlink System Gain
-Uplink System Gain
We would like for this data to uploaded via the LTE connection to a web app. Our support email address will receive alerts if any of the parameters fall below certain thresholds. We would like to retain 30 days of data and it presented in graphical format (each parameter over time) per site.
We are open to a hosted solution if the recurring fee is reasonable. Otherwise, we can host it ourselves.
