Are you confident with Java and have knowledge of Office programming? This is an interesting excercise for you. Jazzy is an open source Java spell checker ([url removed, login to view]) that allows one to enhance Java programs with spellchecker functionality. Jazzy, however, requires to provide a dictionary for different languages in separate files. The aim of this project is to allow Jazzy to work with MS and Open Office dictionaries. That is, instead of reading words from a file on the disk, the new Jazzy version should interact with MS Office (and Open Office) to read words from there.
