The above table details the 3-Phase Triggering Board configuration with the specifications. Following are the features / controls that needs to be incorporated in the 3-Phase Triggering Board

· Thyristor (SCR) or Triac based - depending on customer requirement

· Phase angle control implementation

· External Inter-lock mechanism

· External Synchronization (if required)

· Over-load protection

· Over-temperature protection

· Current limit settings

· Acceleration time : 0 ??" 60 sec

· De-acceleration time : 0 ??" 60 sec

· Indication using LED’s

· In-build SMPS power supply for control logic

· Phase loss detection

Following are the settings implemented digitally

· Overload setting

· Current limit setting

· Acceleration time settings

· De-acceleration time setting

· Over-temperature settings

Motor characteristics

The settings could be initially programmed and then shipped to the client site. Another option is to have separate programming software. Using this tool, we can program the soft-starter at the client site based on the motor parameters. This will also speed up the programming activity for the soft-starter.

Following are the controls implemented digitally

· Over-current protection / limits

· Acceleration ramp control

· De-acceleration ramp control

· Motor overload protection

· Over Temperature protection ( if temperature sensor is in-built in the motor)

· Gate pulse generation

Faults

· Synchronization with external system

· External interlocks if any?

· Motor locked detection

· Phase loss detection & detection

· All the indications (Power On, acceleration, de-acceleration, faults,mechanism, over-temperature etc)

Future Enhancements

Following are things could be part of later stage

· Data storage and analysis

· Communication port

· External programming tools

· Exchange of information between the soft-starter and central control unit (CCU)

· Locking the product under faulty motor connection

Resouce Requirements

The bidders needs to have the following Resources for the development activity:

· 4 channel Digital oscilloscope ( Isolated channels)

· Simulation tool (Matlab/Simulink or Orcad/PSPice)

· PCB layout tool

· Micro-controller programming kit & complier

· Auto-transformer ( 3phase or three single phase)

· Resistive loads

· Motor for checking actual performance

Deliverables

· Technical Design Document containing Block Diagram, Circuit Diagram, schematic, PCB Layout, Parts List eyc.

· Source Code (C language preferred)

· Test Results

· Assembly Manual for PCB
