Build a Sensor and Accompanying App

Calling all Freelance App Designers, Scientists and Mechanically Oriented Makers! Do you have a passion for designing scientific equipment and accompanying apps? Do you love to work with sensors as a hobby? We have a project for you! First, we’d like to introduce ourselves. We are FEWW: Fire, Earth, Wind and Water, a home-grown developer of educational items for children ages 3-12 years old. Our focus is on STEM education, and empowering students and teachers to fully explore the potential of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. We LOVE working with teachers around the world to produce interesting and unique products that will encourage growth and learning in the classroom. We want to produce a keychain-sized, multi-use sensor and accompanying iPad/iPhone/android app. This sensor will measure 5 elements, including speed, force, altitude, distance and direction. The sensor is intended for children ages 3-12, and must be sturdy enough to survive active play. Your role in the project has two major parts. The first part is developing the sensor itself; sourcing components and providing an estimate of the cost to produce the sensor. The second part is to create an app for the sensor that collects data from the sensor and communicates that data to teachers and students in a simple, but useful, manner.
