I need somebody very quickly to write an advertisement, but we need the copy to read as if it was written by a journalist, not by an advertising copywriter.
It's very urgent indeed. We need it now.
The advertisement will simply relate the facts about the positive achievements of a slightly (not very) controversial President and then list the charitable works of his son, and his wife, who runs a charitable foundation.
We have prepared a brief, consisting mainly of the facts from the Internet. Whoever writes it, might well want to do half an hour or so of further research and checking, before simply writing it. I don't know how many words it will be: this will be a 17cm high x 26cm wide in The Times of London and no doubt one can calculate. There will be three photographs. My client wants as many facts to be included as possible.
There are negative things that could be said about this political family – but they are not torturers anything that bad. In any case, the purpose of the advertisement is simply to relate the positive facts and therefore I would imagine nobody would have any particular problem in writing the article and I hope that the editor of The Times will accept it for publication. It will obviously carry a banner across the top explaining that it is a paid for advertisement. Indeed, it is going to be signed by the citizen who is paying for it.
It does not have to be written in The Times style, but it must be equally well written for an inteligent and serious audience - this cannot be writtrn in tabloid style.
My gess is that it will be about one or two hours researching and planning and one to two writing. Then there mayb some revisions required, But the deadline is tomorrow!
You must be a native English - probably British - journalist or possible copywriter.
