Proposal for [url removed, login to view] We have an exciting opportunity for professional freelancers to place their bids for the following projects. We are looking for a versatile web designer to complete the project in the shortest timescale possible. Overview: This site is to be a publicly available resource providing ideas, themes, advice and general resources for anyone planning an event of any kind. The site will have a portal-style look and feel with main categories for events easily accessible and further sub-categories (drill down) available via links. Information is stored in a database and 'articles' are published as content and applied to one or more categories. Visitors to the site can rate the article using a polling type system and can also add their own comments which are moderated. Visitors can also add their own articles to a category. This requires free registration and articles are moderated. When a visitor adds a new article that is approved, they are automatically entered into a monthly draw to win a prize. At any one time, a new visitor to the site can view up to 10 articles before having to log-in or register (free). All content for the site is free to the public. Most of the site revenue is generated from commercial sponsors (see below), google ads, and banner advertising. Advertising is displayed on every page of the site but is not obstuctive to the display of the data. Commercial sponsors: Commercial companies will have a secured area of the site whereby they can upload the latest banners, offers, news etc. Each company will have a profile which will allow them to write a paragraph or two about themselves, what services they offer and links to their own websites. Registration as a commercial sponsor is free. In order for the sponsors adverts (banners etc.) to display on the site, they must provide their own articles. This is done in their administration area. Quite simply, the more articles they provide, the higher their advertising profile will be. Their own banner and advertising with links to their profile will automatically be shown against any article they post. Commercial sponsors have the option to bid for page 1 positioning each week/month whereby the sponsors advert will be displayed in a highly visible location on the home page. The 5 highest bidders will also have a tag-line link to their advert/profile displayed at the top of every page on the site. This works for up to 5 sponsors in each period with the highest price paid being the most prominent. Commercial sponsors also have the option to sponsor the monthly prize (may become weekly dependant on popularity). This is a set price and is paid up front. In return, they get a sponsor message on every page of the site for the period of the sponsorship and a high profile display on the prize details page. Development requirements: The site is hosted on NT servers and all development must be using ASP or ASP.Net. We are looking for development proposals for the above specification to include the following: . Content management system with user level control. Articles submitted by visitors must be approved before being made publicly available. The CMS Should also include tracking of all data associated with the site, management of the bidding system for commercial sponsors, article category administration etc. Developer discretion can be applied here. . Front end of the site should conform to w3c standards (XHTML 1.0 Transitional preferably) and be based on a CSS layout where possible. Design will be provided by the developer and approved by the client. . Database will be MS ACCESS. If deemed necessary, MSSQL can be incorporated.
