We want to build a central portal for doctors from which each client will have the ability to make an appointment for a doctor. The user will be able to chose and search a doctor with the following criteria the location the availability at his preferred date and time and the specialty of the doctor.
This system should be connected with each doctors Microsoft outlook 2003 to store the appointment and to inform if there are any appointments made by phone from the doctors secretary. I order to achieve that task we will use the exchange server of Microsoft.
This portal also need to have a banner system where the administrator will be able to define zones and advertisers plus the banners policies which will be based on the page and total times the banner will be viewable from the visitors.
Also we need a CMS system where the super administrator will have the ability to add edit and delete categories of content and also a wysiwyg editor to insert articles to each category. Also we need and to have child portals with the same functionality with above where the client will be able to set up an appointment to the specific doctor to log in and edit it or to rearrange it or to cancel it.
At all cases the child portal will have a template functionality and each doctor will have to option to customize his portal with our designer help.
The application will have the ability to export some web services in order to receive meetings from a voice portal. All users will have to register before the would be able to set an appointment and after the first appointment this contact will be send to the doctors Microsoft outlook like a contact. After the first log in if the same patient select an other doctor his personal info will be send to the doctors outlook as a contact as well. The application will build with MS SQL and asp.net at c# for the graphical user interface the developer will use the telerik web controls.
The Microsoft outlook based on every doctors office and the central database will be updated each time an appointment is set. As for the central database the developer will have to find a way to send this information from the local Microsoft outlook 2003.
The server will be used is WINDOWS 2003 server the database will be MS SQL 2000 and EXCHANGE SERVER.
